==History==
The group was originally a coed group entitled Funkapella (fashioned after the internationally touring a cappella group Rockapella). It existed in this arrangement for two semesters then soon evolved into an a female a cappella group consisting of Funkapella's female members, changing its name to the UNC Cadence at that time. The first Funkapella concert was in the Hanes Art Center in 2003.
In 2013 Cadence performed its 10 year anniversary concert at Hanes Art Center. The group released its first EP, Brand New Behavior, in 2011 and was featured in a Mouth Off "EP-sode!" on January 22, 2012.〔(Mouth Off EP-Sodes )〕 The group's first full-length album, Double Take, was released in April 2013 and produced by The Vocal Company.
